London, 19th June 2018 – Intercloud today announced a further expansion of its European operations with the opening of the London Office and the appointment of Matthew Parker as Country Manager. The phenomenal growth in the adoption of cloud services by multinationals requires a high performance global delivery and access platform. For the last 8 years Intercloud’s platform has been enabling European enterprises to retain absolute control over their mission critical applications - flexibly, seamlessly and globally - as they have expanded their cloud services operations.
InterCloud addresses large corporations operating multi-Cloud environments. Independent research shows that the majority of multinationals will be operating in a multi cloud environment by 2019. Such demand is a significant opportunity for InterCloud’s vendor agnostic solutions, because Cloud providers are linked privately to InterCloud’s platform enabling application resources to be connected directly to the service provider. The connections are also isolated to optimise performance and security. InterCloud focuses on three key areas:
“We are delighted to expand in the UK. There is a growing realisation among large enterprises that you cannot have a first class Cloud environment without a first class network,” said Jérôme Dilouya, CEO and co-founder, InterCloud. “Across Europe our customers recognise that moving to the Cloud does not necessarily alleviate the current IT burden of keeping the lights on; rather it can create new challenges around the Cloud, security, reliability and performance. That is why we have brought in Matthew Parker, a highly experienced executive of the technology industry, to lead our UK operations and grow our presence here.”
Matthew Parker has over 20 years’ experience in delivering managed services solutions for mid to large enterprises, along with building the associated teams and support mechanisms for customers. At InterCloud he will be responsible for driving the growth in the UK via new customer acquisition among large global companies, who are using multiple Cloud services. Prior to InterCloud, Matthew was Managing Director for long-term Asigra partner Backup Technology (BTL), a UK-based specialist in Cloud backup, business continuity and disaster recovery. Throughout his career Matthew has held senior sales positions at leading IT service providers with an emphasis on the telecoms, internet and business continuity industries, helping to establish and grow their presence in the UK and Europe. Previous roles include Group Sales Director at iomart, UK Sales Director at Claranet and regional Sales Director at Energis.
“InterCloud is bringing a very exciting proposition to the UK to help customers to plan, deploy and manage their Cloud strategies more effectively,” said Matthew Parker, UK Sales Director & Country Manager. “We have ambitious plans to grow in this country, which we will be looking to achieve through direct engagement with customers and indirectly through partners. Our goal is to become known as the platform of choice for large enterprises and the subject matter experts in public Cloud connectivity.”
“Having worked with many multinational companies over the last 25 years and now observing their operational transition to the Cloud, it is no surprise to see Intercloud’s rapid expansion into Cloud global application access, delivery and performance management. Jérôme and the team have exemplified clear strategic vision and technical leadership in this piece of the Cloud eco system and have secured an impressive list of global blue chip customers. Intercloud will bring that vision, experience and execution to multinationals in the UK,” said Patrick Gallagher, Chairman of Intercloud.
Founded in 2010 InterCloud has expanded rapidly from its home market in France, opening sales operations in Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxembourg. The Platform connects to several IaaS providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and supports lots of SaaS vendors such including Salesforce.com, ServiceNow, IBM and SAP. The company also has major customers including Schneider Electric, Société Générale, Veolia and the French national rail service, SNCF.
As companies move their IT resources to the Cloud, they realise that an effective Cloud strategy cannot do without appropriate and effective connectivity.
InterCloud makes access to Cloud applications for multinationals easier and more reliable. Over 50 of them have placed their trust in InterCloud to deliver an appropriate solution to satisfy security and compliance needs in relation to the hybridisation of their business applications.
By providing flexible, reliable and seamless Cloud access, InterCloud ensures that companies retain absolute control over their applications. That is why major Cloud vendors like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google Cloud, Salesforce, ServiceNow, IBM and SAP have opted for InterCloud’s platform.
